Often referred to as the “Oil of angels”. Thought to originally have been introduced to Europe via Africa in the 16th century, where it was a popular treatment for the Plague. Oil is obtained through distillation of the roots, rhizome and herb of the plant.
Anti-spasmodic: Effective in treating cramps, severe coughing and stomach pains.
Carminative: Highly effective at driving out gas from the lower intestine.
Digestive: Promotes healthy digestion by stimulating the digestive juices in the stomach.
Relaxant: Has a calming effect on the nerves, and can be used for shock, depression, anxiety and anger.
Angelica should not be used by pregnant women or diabetics.
