Juniper is obtained through distillation of the needles, woods and powdered fruits of the Juniper shrub, which is found throughout Europe. It is used in many different industries, but perhaps the most common usage is in the flavoring of gin.
Depurative: Juniper is well-known for it’s ability to purify the blood from impurities such as heavy metals, uric acid and pollutants.
Anti-spasmodic: Known as a very effective remedy for strained muscles, and relieves cramps and spasms.
Diuretic: Increases the frequency and volume of urination, removing heavy metals, uric acid and other toxins from the body.
Astringent: As an astringent, Juniper helps with the pain of toothaches, strengthens gums and keeps teeth from falling out, tightens loose muscles and helps to promote an overall sense of well-being. It is also an effective remedy for diarrhea.
Juniper should not be used by those with kidney issues or by pregnant women, and should always be used in small doses.
