Extracted from the leaves of the Rosemary plant, which is used as an herb in Mediterranean countries. Has been used since ancient times in weddings, food preparation, cosmetics and for medicinal purposes.

Benefits and Uses

Indigestion: Rosemary is particularly effective at relieving indigestion and dyspepsia, as well as stomach cramps, bloating and constipation. It detoxifies the liver and aids in the production of bile, which is a key component of digestion.

Hair care: Used in many shampoos, conditioners and other hair products, as it is known to stimulate the hair follicle and promote hair growth. Thought to prevent baldness, Rosemary is often recommended for regrowing hair.

Mouth care: Due to it’s disinfectant properties, Rosemary oil is used in many mouthwashes, toothpastes and rinses, and is effective in freshening bad breath as well as in preventing cavities and gingivitis.

Stress relief: Studies have shown that Rosemary oil reduces the levels of cortisol—a hormone released during stress—thereby reducing stress levels and promoting a sense of calm and well-being.

Caution

Should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Should never be ingested, as it can cause vomiting and spasms.
